Editorial work turns supported knowledge into clear public explanations. Sources and limitations travel with the message.

Communication, conversation, civic memory and knowledge have distinct jobs. They support one public-interest purpose.
Editorial work turns supported knowledge into clear public explanations. Sources and limitations travel with the message.
Read a guideAuthorized channels can support voluntary contributions with privacy, scope and availability made explicit.
Understand the boundariesCivic records and knowledge retain context, review and correction. A report, an institution’s response and a verified outcome are different things.
Check the civic registry’s availabilityConceptual relationship. No live routing, submission, government connection or record change occurs here. The Civic Assistant is an interface; the Ledger remains the record authority.
Illustrative example / no real institution or event
A student sees two different dates for a process. Instead of assuming one is correct, they ask where the current published notice can be found.
Compare the sources and dates. Record what is unclear rather than inventing an answer.
The student may choose to ask through an appropriate available institutional channel. They need not share private records to explain the question.
If reliable clarification becomes available, retain its source and date. An explanation can then help others without repeating the original uncertainty as fact.
STEP UP NAIJA’s coordination model connects questions, relevant information, responsible participation and trustworthy records. Where a workflow is authorized, those relationships can support review and correction over time. This example does not demonstrate an active service, official response or guaranteed outcome.
